3 gaps we found in this solar quote

The price, equipment, and warranty did not fully line up.

1

$7,600 unexplained price jump

$27,000 cash → $34,600 financed before interest.

2

Exact inverter model is missing

The quote does not confirm which inverter will actually be installed.

3

Warranty coverage is incomplete

Panel and workmanship terms are listed, but inverter coverage is not.

Every gap becomes a question to ask

Homeowners reviewing a solar proposal together at a kitchen table

A neutral second look before a long-term contract.

Before you commit

They Know What They’re Selling. You Deserve to Know What You’re Signing.

Solar proposals often make the monthly payment easy to see, even when the full contract takes work to understand. Wanting an independent read before signing a five-figure agreement is ordinary due diligence.

  • The rep needs an answer tonight because the price is “only good today.”
  • The proposal is long, but the actual cash price is hard to find.
  • The monthly payment is clear, but the financed contract price is not.
  • Two quotes use different panels, assumptions, and payment terms, so they are hard to compare.

Proposal review

One clear path from quote to report

The upload flow stays focused: proposal first, contact details second, and optional electricity context third.

  1. STEP 1

    Upload your proposal

Add the PDF or a clear photo your installer gave you. An electric-bill upload is not required.

  2. STEP 2

    Review the preview

We extract the stated terms, run the quote math, and show headline findings before checkout.

  3. STEP 3

    Unlock the full report

Choose a one-time report only if the preview is useful. The PDF is delivered by email.

What the report checks

The terms that change a solar decision

The report keeps the quote's stated terms, calculations, sources, and model limitations visible.

Price per watt

The same-scope solar price is divided by DC system watts and screened against a sourced national historical distribution.

Panel and inverter details

We identify whether exact equipment models are promised or important specifications are still missing.

Production assumptions

The estimate source and its limitations stay visible instead of being presented as a guaranteed outcome.

Financing terms

Cash price, financed price, APR, term, payment schedule, and unexplained differences are organized for comparison.

Written warranties

Product, inverter, workmanship, labor, and other stated coverage are separated from verbal promises.

Questions to ask

The report turns missing or unclear terms into specific questions you can send back to the installer.

Solar quote checker FAQs

What is a solar quote checker?

A solar quote checker organizes the price, system size, equipment, production assumptions, warranties, financing, and missing contract terms in a proposal you already received. Solar Quote Checker is independent of installers and does not sell leads.

Can I check a solar quote without uploading it?

Yes. The free calculator on this page checks price per watt and whether panel count multiplied by panel wattage matches the stated DC system size. Those entries stay in your browser and do not require an email or account.

What files can I upload?

A PDF proposal works best, but a clear JPG, PNG, or WEBP image of the quote is also accepted. Electric-bill documents are not accepted; monthly dollars and kWh can be typed when useful.

Do you sell my information to solar installers?

No. Solar Quote Checker is not an installer marketplace or lead-generation service. The Privacy Policy names the processors used to produce and deliver reports, but customer information is not sold to installers for marketing.

Is the report financial or engineering advice?

No. The service is an independent planning and quote-review tool, not financial, legal, tax, engineering, or installation advice. Confirm final contract and system decisions with appropriately licensed professionals.
